My name is Rita Townshend, I am a Justice of the Peace and a Marriage Celebrant and it is my privilege, as a Marriage Celebrant, to share with so many couples, one of the most wonderful experiences in your life - your wedding day.

I have over 10 years of experience working with couples living overseas, who are coming to New Zealand to be married. Working with you on the internet, I can send you copies of ceremonies, poems, readings, words for your vows and other ideas to look at. I will help you create a ceremony that reflects your personalities, desires, dreams and wishes. One that is very special and personal to you. By the time you arrive in New Zealand, we will have prepared together the ceremony of your choice.

I can help you fill in the 'Notice of Intended Marriage' form that is required for you to apply for your NZ Marriage Licence. The form can be downloaded from [here]. (BDM60 for couples living in New Zealand and BDM58 for couples living overseas)

I also do many weddings around the Christchurch, Canterbury and North Canterbury region. Weddings at home in your own garden, at Wineries, on the beach, in the park, in a hot air balloon, a helicopter ride to the mountains or wherever you wish. Small weddings or large.
